ABOUT THE BOOK

Coaching is one of the most vital skills we can develop as leaders and humans, except most of us never learn to do it well.

No one starts out wanting to be a mediocre coach. And yet that's where most coaches end up. It can be hard to figure out why when the internet is full of 'advice' for coaches and people who want to coach. With all this information there really should be more success. Which is a thought that's haunted me for a long time. 

Then in 2019 I had a friend who was becoming a coach, and I decided I begin by writing him a short letter each day to help him know what I had learned about what it means to be an exceptional coach.

I ended up with 31 letters or meditations on coaching all of which capture an essence of what I think it means to be a coach with incredible depth and power.

I've collected those letters into this book.

Each letter is simple but deep and can be returned to again and again.

They offer practical advice on things like

- Understanding what makes a coaches session work and what makes it fall apart

- Learning how to work with a worldview that's very limited

- Knowing how to show up for the person you want to help even when they have doubts you can help them.

Some day I may publish this book in a traditional way, but for now I offer it to you. It is a collection of love letters about coaching which is part advice and part invitation into your own form of coaching greatness.
